Dolce's Big Day

The appointment has been confirmed...

Dolce goes in this Friday to get spayed at the V-E-T. I won't be there for her when she goes in, but will be able to see her that night.

We were debating postponing it, but we were told that she is old enough to have the procedure. My wife was told that they will do it at the age of eight (8) weeks now. I guess too many morons were taking kittens from the Humane Societies and then reneging on the contract to have the cats neutered or spayed. Still, I worry for my little girl, who really isn't that little any more. Just like Scout, She is growing up and getting bigger every day.

In my heart, she is still the little kitten we fell in love with. Just like Magoo, Smudge and Bella, she will always stay that way to me.

  3. Our vet likes to wait till 6 mos. But Scout had it done at 5 mos. The vet said he was more than ready for "the procedure". I too mourn the kittenhood, but just like in kids, you have to enjoy each stage as they go through it (except that stupid adolescent stage in teenage males). sss's mom

  4. When Buddah's goodies became so prominent that he was rubbing them on the Woman all the time (heh, that really WAS funny) she asked the guy at the stabby place if he could have 'em whacked off early...he said they like to wait til 6 months BUT they can actually do it as early as 3-4 WEEKS! With boy kitties it might make problems later, though...but man, Buddah REALLY needed to have it done at 4 months. I think if he'd rubbed himself across the Woman's face one more time she might have done it with her fingertips...

I hope all goes well for Dolce. She's sooooo pretty!

  5. What a little doll! She'll do very well, I'm sure.

Oh, and my sis insists on telling you to make sure the cat fix-it place does not put a kangaroo in her.

  7. Dolce, be a brave tabby tiger cat. It's not so bad. By the next day, I was my usual self, even though they also removed my front claws (the horror!). Since you're sweet, you don't have to worry about that. My people said they couldn't stop me scratching them and were out of ideas... I won! But I also lost since they took my claws away. So anyway, declawing is much worse than spaying. You'll be fine in no time and forgive your people right away. While you've got the chance, bite the vet. From me.

  8. Dolce is so cute! Good luck at the V-E-T! Be sure to make your mama and daddy feel guilty for taking you to the pokey, ouchy place.

  9. Dolce is a cutie. She looks like our Sebastian. He also when to the vet recently to get snip, snip. He was fine afterwards, a little groggy.
