My new home

After reading about the new kittens on Caturday, I thought back to when we first brought Dolce home. She was a fraction of her current size and so shy about exploring her new home.

Now? She runs around like she owns the place. Respect for her brothers and sister? She jumps on top of Smudge and Bella and tries to get them to wrestle and play with her. If Bella is in a chair that she wants, She jumps up on the chair and starts nipping at Bella's ears until Bella gets ticked off and leaves. Dolce is learning so many things from her brothers and sister. Her new thing is to go underneath the bed covers at night, just like her brother Magoo. The only difference is that Magoo doesn't pur like a chainsaw. Cute at 10:00pm; Annoying at 2:30am.

Bella, at least, has returned to her pre-Dolce days. I caught her playing in the tub like she used to before Dolce showed up.

  1. Mom says even more annoying at 2:30 is making biscuits into her arm (Mittens does this.) I make her get up at 12:30 for stinky goodness....she says she needs to get up and use the litter box anyway......NO, we are NOT spoiled...

  2. Scout jumps on Shaggy and does the lick, lick, nip, nip thing on his head to take over the chair. We kept Scout in a spare room with a baby gate across the opening to keep them seperated at first. But that lasted all of 2 days when Scout figured he could climb the gate & jump over and explore all he wanted. I figured it had to happen sooner than later & let him go for it. sss's mom

  3. I can hardly wait to see my new kittens and unleash some madness here. Things are just too peaceful with my two gentlemen.
Can you please add Caturday to your blog roll? I don't see us there. I am going to work on mine too.

  4. Missy when she first came was unmercifully bullied by the Gigolo. Thankfully Missy turned out to fiesty little think and started beating the crap out of GK:)

  5. Aren't they just so cute when they first come in ... but they certainly can break your routine.

  6. I have a chain saw purr too. I can be heard from across the room. The mom likes when I purr in her ear but not the kneading on the chest. I don't think she appreciates my 18.6lbs of love.

  7. I suppose the other kitties have had to learn to live with being pestered!

  8. Egad! What a sweet face!! Seeing such a sweet, little kitty face makes me want another one. Badness will change the locks on me, however, if I bring home another critter.

  10. Dolce looks so cute there! I love the cute kitty pics of BeauBeau and it's only been 5 months since we got him. He's is gaining weight so quickly he's turning out to be like a tiger!

  12. I swear it took a year and a half before Angel would play again. I know she needed and wanted Taz desperately, but she changed so much after too. Now she plays, and most often than not, she'll go find toys for TAZ to play with and bring them to her. Its a happy sound to hear Angel with her mouth full of furry toy mouse and meowing at the top of her lungs with it in her mouth so Taz will come play with it. A wonderful peace offering telling me all is okay in the kitty house. Even if Angel isn't quite "well" yet.... we'll figure it out in time. Taz says we need another baby kitty that it would fix Angel. yes Taz, I'm afraid it would fix her for good.
