Feline Remembrance Day - 9/9

We lost a lot of furriends this year. Too many, some far too soon.

Early on, I tried to post a tribute to each furriend we lost. But as we lost more and more furriends, especially ones that we had come to live, laugh and love with, I found it harder and harder to post each tribute.

I decided not to put the tributes on this blog. Mostly because my own posts were so few and far between that I worried it wold be a poor example of what already existed on The Cat Blogosphere.

Instead, I will share this song with you. I tried to imbed it but I couldn't.

Josh Groban - To Where You Are

Who can say for certain
Maybe you’re still here
I feel you all around me
Your memories so clear

Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You’re still an inspiration
Can it be (? )
That you are mine
Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn’t faith believing
All power can’t be seen

As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
’cause you are mine
Forever love
Watching me from up above
And I believe
That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

Fly me up
To where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile
To know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

I know you’re there
A breath away’s not far
To where you are

Whenever I hear this song, I think of and remember each of the furriends that Magoo, Bella, Dolce, Baci and Smudge have lost. And each time, I shed a tear for each one that now waits at the Bridge.

  1. That is a beautiful tribute not only to Roscoe today but to so many who have recently crossed the bridge.

  9. Oh. That song makes the Woman leak. It was the main one played at the Grandpa's funeral. It's perfect for remembering, but it's also a leaky kind of song.

There are some many kitties that I miss...and the song is perfect for them.

  10. Very touching. It is always hard when we lose one of our friends from the blogosphere. It seems lately the losses have come in bunches, and dramatically, too.

  11. Hi friends, thank you for your recent note - we know we have been neglecting our blog for a while now. I am going to all the blogs on our list to let you know that we are deleting "Les Trois Chats." Momma is too busy to let us blog anymore - she has had a hard time blogging for herself even. We are actually now Les Quatre Chats anyway as we added LOLA in June, who is a POOP and has put me to shame as the alpha cat around here... even though, yes, she's a GIRL. (I know, SO emasculating! I need a treat or twenty to comfort me...)

We so enjoyed our time with all of you. Emails are welcome, btw! Au revoir, les amis,

    Moose

  12. What a sweet way to remember all of our friends who have gone to the rainbow bridge. We will miss Roscoe more with every passing day, but it fills us with hope to think that he is waiting for us. We see them all again...

Thank you for the beautiful song. Sometimes music can say what is in our hearts better than we can say it ourselves.

    Kitty kisses from Italy,
    Opus (and Cyndi)
